Naruto Review
Note: This review may contain spoilers
Perhaps one of the most famous and popular animes of its generation, Naruto is truly
a must see series. The series itself follows
the adventures of a young ninja whose
goal is to become the "Hokage" or the head
ninja of his village. However his goal has
many obstacles following the fact he has
a tailed beast sealed within his body. As
the series continues, protagonists appear
and Naruto is forced to develop new
abilities and relationships with his teamates Naruto preparing a jutsu
Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, and his teacher Kakashi Hatake.
Animation
The animation in the series follows the style
of the series nicely. The "jutsu" or
techniques used by the characters in the
series are animated nicely and there is a
large variety of colors throughout the series.
The series itself follows the manga quite
nicely until the anime hits what are known as
the infamous "filler episodes". Putting aside
the fillers, the series is animated quite
nicely with its attention grabbing style and colors which fit the series perfectly.
Characters
One of the true highlights of the series. Although the main protagonists Naruto, is not
a completely original character, his actions and attitude resemble many other
protagonists with his far reaching dreams and persistent attitude. However throughout
the series we are constantly introduced to a
large number of impressive characters who
make this series one of our favorites. As
the anime progresses each of the characters
develop from whom they used to be. Each
one ultimately choosing a different path
as seen when Sasuke, Naruto's main rival,
leaves the village in order to further his own
goals.
Plot
When we first saw the series it immediately caused us to get addicted to the anime.
The plot itself has many twists and kept us interested with each episode. New
characters and developments were
presented with each episode and the story
itself never got boring, leaving us unable to
advert attention as we were always focused
on what would happen next. The series
starts off innocent enough, but as the story
continues, dark pasts are revealed and the
story takes a darker turn as each character
desire more power for their own reason and to meet their own desires. One of our
favorite stories, which changes from Naruto's main goal of becoming a successful
ninja to a dream of protecting his friends while discovering meaning behind his
existence.
Soundtrack
The anime itself has released several soundtracks all of which fit the anime nicely.
The soundtracks themselves are heard constantly throughout the series, with many of
the characters having their own themes. The anime changes an opening and ending
song roughly every two dozen episodes. The soundtrack itself is solid.
Overall
One of the best animes of our generation. Its long run along with its solid animation
and character development and a great plot makes this series one of our favorites. A
must see series for any anime or manga fan.
